I'm not sure if this is intentional or merely a happy accident, but the red plate on his forehead looks a bit like a heart. This style would be fantastic as a sci-fi version of Alice in Wonderland. 
Anyways, I like to dished profile of the face, and the mechanical details look practical and interesting.

Reminds me just a bit of Sentinel Prime from the third Transformers movie. Only with this I don't have to sit through a long (and bad) movie to enjoy it.
